A Sunday post…

I saw this yesterday via Fred Wilson. For those of us in Business School, I think it’s critically important to keep a holistic vision of our life and goals in mind. This video really says it all.

Thoughts on Obama and leadership

It was clear to me quite early on Election Night that Nate Silver’s reputation was well-deserved, and Barack Obama was going to be the next President of the United States. As blue states were called quickly for Obama and it took quite some time to call red states for McCain, the result was even more [...]

A touching story

The election is next week, and it’s clear from my previous posts that I’m an Obama supporter, and have been since he announced his candidacy in January 2007. (I’ve gotten a very good return on my investment in him at Betfair!) For people that are interested in Obama, his grassroots/volunteer movement, or politics in general, [...]

A few random notes

So there are a few things I’ve been meaning to post for a while, but haven’t gotten around to. I’m going to un-clog my mind and post a round-up of stuff here. Stephen Hawking will be retiring from the Lucasian Chair of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge. Apparently it’s traditional for the person in [...]

This is a landmark achievement, and I look forward to seeing more successes from [...]

I just saw this video via the Times Online (the F1 blog) and had to share it. It’s a hilarious parody advert [...]

RIP Richard Wright: 1943-2008

Richard Wright, the keyboardist for Pink Floyd, died today of cancer. While I wasn’t part of the generation that grew up with Pink Floyd, I certainly grew up listening to them. (The only album I bought when it first came out was The Division Bell.) My first honest-to-goodness rock concert was seeing them in the [...]

A Sunday music post…

I can’t remember where I first got this song, but recently whenever I hear it I can’t seem to get it out of my head. It’s “Barely Listening” by a band called Pilot Speed. (They’re Canadian, from Toronto.)
